It has been quite some time since I posted anything new. I have been busy beyond belief! I took the reigns of a medical devices company as President & CEO in July, 2012 and being a startup company, those that have been in my shoes know what I'm talking about.
Much has happened with me and the world in-general since my last update. Perhaps the most impactful thing has been the situation between President Obama and Congress. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely believe that Barack Obama is the worst thing that could have or ever has happened to the United States of America but the interactions and reactions in Congress is troubling as well.
The Affordable Care Act is the hot button of today. Let me say right now that it is terrible legislation that should have never happened. Personally my insurance costs have doubled since its passing so I am trying to figure out why "affordable" was included in its name! Frankly there are so many uneducated people in this country that have no clue how terrible the act really affects them, others and the country. The relative stupidity that seems to be prevalent in America today has people listening to sound bites and believing what they hear to be factual. If this bill isn't repealed, this country will never what it has been for all these years-- THE image of what every country would love to be.
I don't have time to go into all of the details right now but the House's shutdown actions--while very well-meaning in its efforts to stop this bill--is alienating the majority (again, intellect will never be a trait of the majority). I can only hope that somehow, some way, people will wake up and realize that we cannot afford to keep the "not-so-affordable care act" or "Obama-doesn't-care."
